A random number is a is a randomly generated number for each ticket. To add a random number to the workbench, click on the Random Number button in the toolbar. Then, move the mouse to the location you would like the number to appear and click the left mouse button.
To change the properties of the random number, double click on it to open the Random Number Properties window. In the Random Number Properties window you can change the following properties:
Font Face: The font the random number will be rendered in. Example: Times New Roman.
Font Style: Draw the random number in one of four styles: Normal, Bold, Italics, or Bold Italics.
Font Size: The point size the font will be drawn in. This is any value greater than zero, and can include fractions of a size. Example: 12.5
Text Color: The color the random number will be drawn in. Click on the button to select from forty predefined colors, or press More Colors to select a custom color.
Border Color: The color of the border around the random number. Click on the button to select from forty predefined colors, or press More Colors to select a custom color. This has no effect if the border style is None.
Border Style: The type of border that will be drawn around the random number. If the selected value is None, then no border will be drawn.
Prefix: The prefix is a static value that is inserted before the random number itself. Example: 'No.'
Number Pattern: The number pattern defines the number of digits that appear in the random number. If the current number does not contain enough digits to meet this minimum requirement, zeroes will be added to the start of the number until it does.
Postfix: The postfix is a static value that is added to the end of the random number.
Seed Number: The seed number is used in the random number generation and controls the random numbers that will be generated. If you desire two random numbers to be equal on a ticket, be sure they both contain the same seed number and the Lock Seed option is checked.
Lock Seed: The Lock Seed option indicates that the specified seed number will be used each time a random number is generated. If you desire two random numbers to be equal on a ticket, be sure they both contain the same seed number and the Lock Seed option is checked.
Generate Unique Values: Selecting this option indicates that you would like each random number to be unique (not repeated). Use this option with the minimum and maximum values to specify the range you would like your random numbers to fall between. If you specify a range smaller than the number of tickets you print, the numbers will repeat.
Min Value: Indicates the minimum value a random number is allowed to have. Use this option with the Generate Unique Values option and the max value to specify the range you would like your random numbers to fall between. If you specify a range smaller than the number of tickets you print, the numbers will repeat.
Max Value: Indicates the maximum value a random number is allowed to have. Use this option with the Generate Unique Values option and the min value to specify the range you would like your random numbers to fall between. If you specify a range smaller than the number of tickets you print, the numbers will repeat.
To reshape the random number border, click the random number once to select it and move the mouse over one of the black 'handles' around the edge of the border. Press and hold the left mouse button, then drag the mouse until the border is the desired size. Release the left mouse button to finish. Moving a handle in the corner of the border will move two sides of the border. Moving a handle in the middle of a side will just move that side.
Holding the Shift or Ctrl key on the keyboard while reshaping the border will force the width and height to remain proportionally the same.
To move a random number, move the mouse over it, then press and hold the left mouse button. Drag the mouse until the random number is in the desired position. Release the left mouse button to finish.
When you print a project containing a random number, a log of the random numbers used is created. This log is named 'Project Name - RunID ID#.txt' and is saved in the in the log folder in the directory TicketBench was installed to. For example, if a project named 'Spring Raffle' containing a random number and a print run id of 23, the log would be saved as 'C:\Program Files\TicketBench Plus\log\Spring Raffle - RunID 23.txt'.
Rotate: The rotation of the random number. Positive values rotate counter-clockwise, negative values rotate clockwise. To rotate a random number, click the random number once to select it and click on the Object menu. Select Rotate, enter the desired angle, then press the OK button.
Top Align: Move the text to the top of the surrounding border. This can be combined with the left, right, or center horizontal alignments.
Bottom Align: Move the text to the bottom of the surrounding border. This can be combined with the left, right, or center horizontal alignments.
Center Vertically: Move the text to the vertical center of the surrounding border. This can be combined with the left, right, or center horizontal alignments.
Left Align: Move the text to the left side of the surrounding border. This can be combined with the top, bottom, or center vertical alignments.
Right Align: Move the text to the right side of the surrounding border. This can be combined with the top, bottom, or center vertical alignments.
Center Horizontally: Move the text to the horizontal center of the surrounding border. This can be combined with the top, bottom, or center vertical alignments.
To align a random number, click the random number once to select it. Make sure there is only one random number selected. Then, in the toolbar, press the button corresponding to the alignment action you wish to perform.
