After you have finished designing your project, you will want to print it. Before you can print, however, you need to register TicketBench/RaffleBench. Until you have registered, you can only print one page at a time through Print Preview. Once TicketBench/RaffleBench has been registered, printing is a fairly simple process.
Before you do the actual print run, it is recommended that you try a sample print using Print Preview. Sometimes it is easier to notice small problems with the project when it is actually printed. In Print Preview mode, a few things happen. If you select “Show Borders”, the lines between each of the tickets are printed. The word “Sample” is printed in the background of each ticket.
Before you print, you need to enter some basic information, such as how many pages you would like to print. Click on the File menu and select Print to open the print window. The print window allows you to control the print run by changing the following settings:
Printer: The printer you wish to print with.
Printer Properties: Controls printer options. It is recommended that you use Page Layout to make these changes whenever possible.
Print to File: Instructs the printer to print to a file instead of the printer.
Cutmarks: Instructs the printer to include small lines indicating the edges of the tickets and gutters. These will only print if the page margins are set to a value greater than zero. Available In: TicketBench Pro, TicketBench Enterprise.
Print Run Report: Indicates that you would like an additional page to be printed containing a summary of the print run. Among other information, the summary includes how many pages were printed, when the print run was started, and the print run comments.
Skip First Record Name: Indicates that you would like to skip the first set of values in an imported data file. The first set of values often contains field names that can be safely skipped. This option is only available if you have imported data from an external file or database into your project. Available In: TicketBench Pro, TicketBench Enterprise.
Spool Job at (# Pages): Controls the size of the jobs that are sent to the printer. It is recommended that this value be between 25 and 50 pages unless you are sure your printer can handle larger jobs. Be default, this value is equal to the total number of pages to be printed.
Number of Copies: Indicates the number of copies of each page you would like. If the value is set to one, only the original sheet will be printed. Available In: TicketBench Pro, TicketBench Enterprise.
Number of Tickets to Print: The total number of tickets to be printed in the run. Changing this value automatically changes the total number of pages to be printed.
Number of Pages to Print: The total number of pages to be printed in the run. Changing this value automatically changes the total number of tickets to be printed.
Start Number: The number all serial numbers in the project start at for this print run. This option is only available if the project contains at least one serial number and all the serial numbers have the same start number.
Start Record: Instructs the project to begin importing data at the specified record number. If the value is one, data will begin importing from the first record. This option is only available if you have imported data from an external file or database into your project. Available In: TicketBench Pro, TicketBench Enterprise.
Output Type: Indicates the output type for the print run. Available In: TicketBench Enterprise.
Stack Depth: Indicates the number of pages you would like the stack to wrap at. For example, if you are printing 400 sheets of tickets, each page containing four tickets and you set the Stack Depth to 200, the final output will contain two stacks: the first one containing tickets 1-800, the second containing numbers 801-1600. This option is only available if you have selected Stacked or Partial Stacked as your output type. Available In: TicketBench Enterprise.
Begin at Page: The page in the at which you would like to begin printing. Be sure you set the Number of Pages in Stack field to the number of pages in the entire stack. This option is only available if the Output Type is Partial Stacked Run. Available In: TicketBench Enterprise.
End at Page: The page in the stack at which you would like to stop printing. Be sure you set the Number of Pages in Stack field to the number of pages in the entire stack. This option is only available if the Output Type is Partial Stacked Run. Available In: TicketBench Enterprise.
Print Run Comments: Contains comments about this specific print run. By default, this contains information about the serial numbers in the project.
Print Side: Indicates which side of a double sided project you would like to print. By default, this is set to Front and Back. This option is only available if you are printing a double sided project. Available In: TicketBench Enterprise.
Print Booklet Pages: Indicates which booklet pages you would like to print. By default, all booklet pages are selected. This option is only available if you are printing a project that contains multiple pages. Available In: TicketBench Enterprise.
After the print run is configured, press the OK button to send the job to the printer. The Print window will close and the Print Status window will open. The Print Status shows which page is currently being spooled. It will automatically close when the entire run has been spooled. If you are printing a double sided project, you may have an additional step. See the section on Printing Double Sided Projects for more information.
