Available In: TicketBench Enterprise.
Tickets with full-color backgrounds are often difficult to cut. Each stack of tickets must be cut very carefully to ensure that the blade falls precisely between each ticket or one ticket will contain part of the neighboring ticket. A gutter is a margin around each ticket reserved for cutting. Instead of making one cut between each ticket, two cuts are made. Since there is a bit of room between each ticket reserved by the gutter, the cuts no longer need to be as precise.
To create a gutter, click on the File menu and select Page Layout to open the Page Layout window. Enter the amount of gutter space (in inches) in the field labeled 'Gutters' then press the OK button. The ticket displayed on the workbench will now display a green rectangle indicating the gutter.
There are two ways to print the gutter:
Print Preview: If you have the 'Show Borders' option checked while printing a sample page from the Print Preview, the gutter around each ticket will be printed as well as the actual border between each ticket.
Cutmarks: During an actual print run you can check the 'Cutmarks' option to small lines in the margin around the tickets indicating the gutter.
Note: Adding a gutter to a ticket will have no effect on the final appearance of the ticket itself. It is only a guide for cutting tickets.
