We have some new quick tickets on TicketPrinting.com! Rich in color, variation, and seasonal themes, these tickets are souvenir quality but very affordable in any quantity. The new ones are:

. This quick ticket be used for a tournament or as an invitation for a father-son golf outing.

Summer Themes: Bright, sunny blue skies form the background of this quick ticket — it's already selling well.

New Thermal Ticket Stock
Posted by: Josh

Our High Security General Admission Tickets just received a little face lift. They are now available in four more colors. In addition to the original red, green and gray we now also offer blue, white, orange and pink. I am actually excited to see which color becomes our most popular. All colors offer the same black light and coin rub security features to prevent fraud.

Ticket Printing Just Got A Little Better!
Posted by: Josh

Yesterday we took the time to make a change that few people will probably notice, but it should help in the long run.

If you had paid close attention before as you were ordering quick tickets on our website, you would have seen the maximum characters per line listed next to the text box. This guideline was intended to let the user know how many characters they could put on a line without having their text run off of the edge of the ticket. Unfortunately, not all text characters are the same size. A W is much larger than an i. In general we tried to use realistic sample text and then edit the text formatting on a ticket when the text did not fix.

Now the website will automatically detect clipping of your text and show you where on the ticket it is occurring allowing you to fix it before the order is completed. This will help keep the ticket proofs more accurate and make sure that there are not any cases of trimmed text that we did not catch.

If your text is being clipped, you will be shown an error message by the group of text boxes and the specific line of text where the problem is will be highlighted in red making it easy to see where the problem is.

We would love to hear your feedback on this change. Please take the time to leave us a comment about what you think and any other suggestions that you may have for our website.

Ticket Printing Holiday Promotion
Posted by: Josh

Earlier this week I was given a chance, along with our development team, to process your ticket orders. It was a lot of fun to see some of the interesting and creative events that our customers are planning for the holidays. It also gave us a chance to brainstorm about things that we can do to make life easier for our normal production staff.

We have also been receiving a steady stream of our new user designed quick ticket orders. These are tickets where a customer can design their entire ticket, as an image, and then upload it to our website and add a stub and a serial number to it before we print the tickets for them. This is a great way to get a custom ticket design at a quick ticket price if you are comfortable designing the ticket yourself. We have been getting a lot of good feedback from our first customers about what they like and what we could be doing better. Their suggestions will start finding their way into the website over the next few days.

We also need to post one last promotional code for 2006. You can use the code: ENDOF2006 to receive 10% off of any of our quick ticket products. This is just a little way to thank our customers for helping us continually get better. Thank you for your help!

We would like to thank all of you who bought our High Security General Admission Tickets. The experiment was a great success and we sold out of most of our stock this week with several large orders. We have ordered more ticket stock and will have the tickets online again shortly after it arrives. we have also ordered equipment to triple our production capacity for printing these thermal tickets. Be sure to keep your eyes open for an expanded line of thermal, high security tickets as we prepare to launch these tickets into full production.

Customer Designed Ticket Printing
Posted by: Josh

Today we are launching a new type of ticket on TicketPrinting.com. This new ticket is a hybrid between our quick ticket and custom ticket products. Using our new flash ticket designer, a customer can design their ticket offline, including the background image and any text information on the ticket, then upload that design as an image to our website (in .gif, .jpg, or .png format), and then place a stub and a start number on the ticket to complete the design. TicketPrinting.com will show you a proof of your ticket and you can approve the proof online and finalize the order in a matter of minutes. This option will allow our customers to save money by designing their own custom tickets and also take advantage of our faster quick ticket processing.

For best results when designing your ticket you should try and end with an image size of 1600 pixels wide by 625 pixels tall. This is equivalent to a 300dpi image and will ensure that the image will print nicely on our presses.

This is just one of the first steps that we are planning to take to bridge the gap between the custom tickets and quick tickets now available on TicketPrinting.com. Please give this flash ticket designer a try and let us know what you think.

First High Security Ticket Orders
Posted by: Josh

Over the weekend we received three orders for our new high security thermal tickets. It was nice to see that people liked them right away enough to buy them. As I mentioned before, these tickets are still a test run to see how they work before we scale up this form of ticket printing on our website. So far we have not had any problems. The tickets printed perfectly and will be shipped today. One of the biggest advantages of the thermal tickets is that they are more affordable in small quantities than our other tickets as they come pre-perforated and the printer cuts the tickets as they come out. We would also like to wish all of our customers and site visitors a happy Thanksgiving this week and take the chance to express our gratitude for your business. We really enjoy printing tickets for your different events and are always looking for ways to better serve you.

High Security General Admission Tickets
Posted by: Josh

Today TicketPrinting.com has launched a new type of quick tickets. Using thermal ticket printing technology we have developed a general admission event ticket that features a UV watermark on the back. This watermark will glow under a black light and changes color from white to blue when rubbed with a coin.

These anti-fraud security measures give our customers one more option when having tickets printed for their events. The thermal ticket printing technology also allows us to print fewer tickets in an order than previously possible, bringing the minimum ticket quantity down to 10 tickets for the High Security General Admission Tickets.

This product is still a test product and we have limited quantities to start with, but hopefully this will allow us to add a new product line with more advanced security options including holograms, color paper centers and black light water marks.

Thermal Ticket Printing Technology is the same process that is used by most movie theaters and college box offices to quickly print out single tickets. The text is written onto the ticket using a print head that is very hot eliminating the need for ink in the printing process. The tickets themselves remain heat sensitive making it important not to leave them on your car dashboard during the summer or other places where the temperature might rise to or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Spell Check added to Quick Tickets
Posted by: Josh

Today we added a new feature to our quick tickets. The TicketPrinting.com website will check the spelling of your tickets for you before you place your order. This should help eliminate silly ticket mistakes (and we do see quite a few so don?t feel bad if it catches a typo on your ticket). To use the spell checker you just click on the button that says ?Spell Check? under the text fields on any Quick Ticket product page. A window will open up that will walk you through any spelling changes that need to be made. Feel free to let us know what you think. We hope that this will make for a better ticket printing experience for our customers.

Winter Ticket Promotion and Website Tips
Posted by: Josh

It is still cold up here in Montana, although the weather is calling for it to get up to 34 degrees today, that is a whole two degrees above freezing. To celebrate I thought that we could offer a special on some of our winter tickets. Just use the promotional code NOVEMBERSNOW on any of the quick tickets listed on our winter tickets page and receive 10% off your order of those tickets. This promotion will be good starting today and ending on November 12th. This should help motivate some people to start thinking about tickets for their Christmas Parties and other events.

Did you know that it is now possible to reorder quick tickets on our website? This is one of the new features that our technical staff has added to the website recently. You can even start with the same information that you used for your tickets on your last order and change the information for your next event, cutting down on the time that you spend typing in your ticket information. To access this feature on TicketPrinting.com, log into your account and look in the box at the upper right hand corner of the page. This box will have your order history for the last month, if you placed your order and it is not showing up on that list just click the button that says ?All Orders? and it will take you to a page where you can view all of the orders that you have placed with us. Once you find the order that you would like to reorder from click on it and it will show you the contents of that order. If you placed a quick ticket order since last July, there will be a link that says ?reorder? next to the item. Clicking that link will take you to the ticket page with all of the details for the ticket pre-populated. Try it out and let me know what you think. I will be detailing other new features of the website over the next coming weeks, so stay tuned.

Happy Halloween Tickets
Posted by: Josh

Happy Halloween! Halloween is a holiday that is not normally associated with tickets, but we still print thousands of Halloween tickets for events each year. We print tickets for Halloween Parties and Halloween raffle tickets for door prizes and fundraisers. We have even added a new line of Halloween ticket designs to the website this year.

For me, Halloween is the start of the holiday season. The rest of the big holidays just seem to come very quickly once we reach Halloween. It does not help that TicketPrinting.com is located in Montana. We received 4-6 inches of snow yesterday with temperatures between 5 and 25 degrees. Even though today is Halloween, it is already feeling like Christmas.

It is not too early to start thinking about Christmas, whether it is thinking ahead to your holiday gift shopping or planning your work Christmas Party, starting now to avoid the rush is a good idea. We have a complete line of Christmas ticket products that are sure to help put you in a good mood in preparation for this holiday season.

50/50 Tickets
Posted by: Josh

I spent some time this morning looking at the different search terms that people are using to search our quick ticket library. Every ticket search writes the keywords used to a text file and we use that file internally to help identify new ticket designs that we need to make available. One of the most popular searches that we get is for 50/50 tickets. 50/50 tickets are a type of raffle ticket where the prize is set up such that the winner of the raffle receives 50% of the value of the total ticket sales.

Unlike other types of raffle ticket events, where the prizes are predetermined, in a 50/50 raffle the prize increases in value as more tickets are sold. This is a good way to justify selling more tickets or selling them at a higher price as it is generally in the best interest of all parties for the total revenue from ticket sales to be as high as possible (unless of course your raffle ticket number is not the lucky one chosen). Our raffle tickets are often used as 50/50 tickets because they are larger and more convenient than roll tickets.

We received our first snow this week here in Bozeman, MT. Early last week it snowed a couple of inches in the valleys and then on Saturday it did again. In celebration of the snow for the next week (through 10/31/2006) any customer can use the coupon code 50/50WINTER to receive 15% off of our winter raffle tickets. I hope that this helps everyone to get in a good mood for the holidays!

Graph Expo 2006
Posted by: Josh

I just got back from Graph Expo 2006. I went with our operations manager and IT manager and we had a lot of fun. It was a good chance to look at the print industry as a whole and realize how different we are from most printers. There are all types of digital presses on the market that will print the variable data for tickets. Historically Xerox and Hewlett Packard have been the market leaders for digital printing. While that is still the case, competitors like Cannon and Konica Minolta are starting to close the gap.

When it comes to ticket printing, we talked to most of the exhibitors who were showing off equipment that automatically takes a printed page and transforms that page into a finished product. When we told them what we do and how our business works though, none of them really had anything that could help us. We did find some things though that will allow us to produce better tickets for our customers. We are hoping to start using a selection of better printers and papers coupled with better software to offer a nicer ticket with more built in security features. I would list some of them here but I want to keep it a surprise until the new features are ready to launch.

Me in Customer Service
Posted by: Josh

Yesterday I had the chance, with our development team, to fill in for customer service while they attended a training seminar. Every time that I spend time talking to customers on the phone and responding to emails I gain a new appreciation for the importance of our Customer Service Staff. They really are wonderful.

We also came back today with a list of things that we could do to make the website easier to use, and improve the tools that our customer service reps use to help answer your questions. One example is about ticket reorders on our website. Since early last summer it has been possible to look in your account for an order that you have placed previously open that order and make changes before placing it again. This is convenient if you are planning a similar event to one that you have held in the past and you would like to use similar tickets without starting from scratch. By logging into your account and looking at your order history, it is possible to open your quick ticket order, change any fields that you would like and place the ticket order again. What we forgot to do is make it possible to change between similar tickets. We need to make it possible to change the tickets so that if I had it printed in blue last time I can pick the red version of the ticket this time. It is a little change but it is one that I think will be important, especially as we have more and more customers that order from us year after year.

If you have any suggestions for new features that you would like to see on our website, leave a comment and let me know about it. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Ticket Website Errors on Tuesday
Posted by: Josh

TicketPrinting.com was not functioning like it should have been on Tuesday. Our session variables were not being kept causing users to loose items in their shopping carts, have difficulty getting items into their shopping cart and in designing quick tickets. While we still do not know exactly what caused the problem to start occurring, we did find the source and have fixed it. We are sorry for any inconvenience that may have been felt while the bug was still on the site.

From our web logs, it looks like a large portion of our customers were patient enough to hold off on placing an order until Wednesday when the site was working again. We would like to thank you for your patience and loyalty. Here at TicketPrinting.com, we realize that many times people are working with a tight schedule when they are designing and ordering tickets. For that reason we try hard to keep our websites working smoothly. If you ever find an error on one of our web pages or have trouble finding what you are looking for on our sites feel free to contact us and we will work to quickly diagnose and resolve the problem. The success of your event is important to us and we want to make sure that planning the event goes as smoothly as possible.

Pricing Raffle Tickets for Success
Posted by: Josh

It might be a surprise, but research shows that the majority of organizations who hold raffle ticket fundraisers do not know how much money they will make until after the raffle is over. Nearly all raffles have a target amount of money that they would like the raffle to produce, and there is a simple calculation that can be made to see how many tickets you will need to sell at what price in order to meet that goal. By playing around with the quantity of raffle tickets and the pricing in order to match your customer base it is fairly easy to plan your raffle so that you meet your fundraising needs.

In order to help ensure that your next raffle ticket event is a success, the rest of the article describes factors that you should take into consideration when planning your fundraiser. This raffle ticket calculator utility will help you price the correct amount of raffle tickets for your event.

Welcome to the Ticket Printing Blog
Posted by: Josh

Hello and welcome to this blog. You have found the official blog of www.TicketPrinting.com. We decided to add a blog to our site after a visit that Robert Scoble, then a blogger for Microsoft, made to Montana. We spent about an hour talking with Robert about blogs as a method of corporate communication. He really sold us on the idea.

The purpose of the Ticket Printing Blog is to give us a chance to communicate with our customers about new features and changes to our websites, new products, special promotions and other things here at TicketPrinting.com. We will also use the blog to address event management ideas, tell success stories from customers and start to develop a ticket printing community.

The other goal that we have with the blog is to capture customer feedback. We think of ourselves as a technology company that prints tickets, we write our own software and build our own websites. If there are things that we do that you as a customer do not like or features that would make your life easier we want to know about them. Please feel free to post any comments that you have about our service or our site and we will make it a point to take your advice as we move forward to become a better company.

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog and I look forward to the conversations that we will have in the future.
